BISTRO MOLINES AWARDED A CHEF'S HAT
Date: October 15, 2009
Bistro Molines at Tallavera Grove Vineyard, Mount View has been
operating for less than a year and has just been awarded a Chefs
Hat - Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2010.
...."My meal was a high-water mark in 14 years of visiting the
Hunter to feast on Molines's talent. I like what his humility
stands for: a rustic, yet sophisticated, honesty and an
unpretentious relaxed pace with a sprinkling of enchantment. He has
downsized from the epic production of Roberts and is all the better
for it. Here is a chef with his hands on the tiller. His wife
Sally is on the floor. Molines is back in his element using local
produce and celebrating the seasons in a regional French menu that
is surprisingly pricey while still delivering bang for the buck. On
the upside, the wine list is remarkably reasonable and
parochial"...Reviewed by Simon Thomsen.
Robert Molines was inducted into the NSW Restaurant and Catering
Association "JK Walker Culinary Hall of Fame" in the first week of
October 09. Robert joins a long list of industry legends such as
Tetsuya, Neil Perry and Tony Bilson which only further affirms the
significance of this achievement for Robert as a Hunter Valley
Chef.
The John K Walker Hall of Fame acknowledges the contribution by
an individual to the Restaurant and Catering Industry in NSW. The
award recognises a defined group of individuals and mentors within
the industry who may be called upon by the industry as
representatives of enduring excellence.
Bistro Molines at Tallavera Grove is open Thursday to Monday for
lunch and Friday and Saturday nights for dinner.
