Bistro Molines

eat

Algerian born Robert Molines, is widely regarded as one of the best Hunter Valley chefs with over 35 years experience. Robert grew up in Beausoleil, in the south of France, and his childhood exposed him to a mix of French, Italian and Mediterranean cultures. He completed his culinary education at the Catering Institute of Menton and served his apprenticeship at some of the top hotels of Monte Carlo, Nice and Cannes, before arriving in Australia in 1968.

He gained experience in many Sydney restaurants before moving to the Hunter Valley with his wife Sally in 1973.

Now, Robert and Sally are proud proprietors of Bistro Molines at Tallavera Grove. This French Bistro is set in the gorgeous surrounds of our picturesque Tallavera Grove property in Mount View. Robert has returned to his roots and offers a large, ever-changing menu of French Provincial cuisine inspired by the freshest local produce. The open set dining room is lovingly decorated by Sally with fresh flowers, colourful fruit and antique pictures and ornaments. However, the place to dine is on the verandah overlooking the Mount View valley and vineyards or in the wisteria covered courtyard- heaven on earth!

Bistro Molines is open for lunch Thursday to Monday and for dinner Friday and Saturday evenings.

Our Roots

Great Wine Starts In The Vineyard

We believe that all great wines begin in the vineyard. Our strong vineyard focus is something that sets us apart from many other wine producers. From the careful selection of our vineyard sites more than 20 years ago, and the planting of varieties and clones that take full advantage of the soil and climate, to the judicious management of these blocks in the years since then, we are able to ensure that we consistently deliver the best fruit possible to the winery every year.
